African Textile Workshop

For the last few weeks I have been preparing for my latest school workshop at Saint Benedict’s RC Primary School.  I am working with year 4 pupils to produce two textile wall hangings linked with their creative curriculum topic Kenya.

The children have been learning about safari animals and looking at and recreating tribal patterns of their own, both of which are incorporated into the textile design. A range of techniques are being used including batik, fabric painting and appliqué.
