African Textile Workshop – Day 3!
Yesterday was my final day at school working with year 4 pupils on the African inspired wall hangings. We had a really productive day completing all of the batik and painting.
Now all that’s left are the finishing touches which include ironing off the wax, fixing the colour and attaching the children’s felt animal shapes. Watch this space to see the completed wall hangings . . .

Yarn Bombing!
A few weeks ago some Olympic inspired knitting mysteriously appeared along the railing of Saltburn Pier. The work includes knitted athletes from a range of Olympic sports including synchronised swimming, gymnastics, football, weightlifting, rowing, volley ball and many more. If you have not already been for a walk along the pier to view the knit work then I highly recommend that you do, it a fantastic and fun sight to see.
Known as 'Yarn Bombing', knitting appears in random places over night but the knitter/knitters stay anonymous. There has been little bits of yarn bombing in Saltburn before but nothing on this scale. It has well and truly put Saltburn on the map. Whoever the knitter/knitters are thank you for this treat!
