Known as 'Yarn Bombing', knitting appears in random places over night but the knitter/knitters stay anonymous. There has been little bits of yarn bombing in Saltburn before but nothing on this scale. It has well and truly put Saltburn on the map. Whoever the knitter/knitters are thank you for this treat!

Yarn Bombing!
A few weeks ago some Olympic inspired knitting mysteriously appeared along the railing of Saltburn Pier. The work includes knitted athletes from a range of Olympic sports including synchronised swimming, gymnastics, football, weightlifting, rowing, volley ball and many more. If you have not already been for a walk along the pier to view the knit work then I highly recommend that you do, it a fantastic and fun sight to see.

Microsoft Paint Contest
I am taking part in this . .
Artists AJ Garrett and Rebecca Little have launched a contest which they hope will see lots of people getting creative on Microsoft Paint. They will be running an exhibition at the Peg Powler Gallery in Stockton’s Dragon Studios displaying artworks created using Microsoft Paint. The best pictures will also be turned into a book of charity postcards.
MS Paint is something most people with PCs have access to but is rarely used now due to other more popular programs. They hope this will be a little bit of a revival for paint.
The pair came up with the project in association with The Big Draw 2012 – a world campaign to encourage drawing. If you fancy having a go then all you need to do is create a piece of art on MS Paint and email it to info@pegpowler.com
